Competition Time: 'The Scared Book'

Leading up the the launch of my latest picture book, The Scared Book, I'm running a competition to WIN a signed copy of the book PLUS an author visit from me to the classroom of your choice, within the Sydney Metropolitan area. You don't have to live in Sydney to enter, I'll send the book anywhere in Australia, but the nominated classroom must be in Sydney.

SO what do you need to do??


Simply Draw or Make your own unique monster. Write its name and something it likes to do. Post a photo to Facebook or twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #thescaredbook (if you are a child ask an adult to do this for you) or email to [email protected]. The winner will be the one I like the most!

Open to all those who are young and all those who are young at heart.

I will also be having a book blog blitz during the week of The Scared Book's release (29th August) and leading up to the launch at The Children's Bookshop, Beecroft, NSW on Saturday 2nd September at 2pm. I will be blogging at Just Write for Kids every day of that week with break out blogs over a number of other websites. Simply comment on any of the websites or facebook posts with the answer to 'What gives you goosebumps/tingly spine/tummy butterflies' to go in the draw to WIN a signed copy of The Scared Book (Australia only). And for any picture book writers out there, if you include #thescaredpitch in your comment, you will go in the draw to win the chance to pitch and submit your picture book manuscript (up to 500 words) direct to Suzanne O’Sullivan at Hachette. Amazing!

You can comment on as many of the blogs as you like to give you more chances to WIN. I'll post a schedule of the blog blitz closer to time.
